Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
A model of communication-how we communicate to self and others-and how that communication creates and affects our behavior. As a study, it is a synthesis of cognitive and behavioral philosophies which focus on the information coming through the neurology (cognitive) and the programs we run inside our heads to produce the behaviors (behavioral) we do.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming, or NLP, is a fairly new technology founded by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the mid-1970s. Taken literally, the definition of NLP is:
- Neuro: Our nervous system, in which our experience is filtered through our senses:
- Linguistic: Our language – both verbal and nonverbal – through which our internal representations of the world are encoded, organized and given meaning:
- Programming: The discovery and use of the programs we run in our own minds – and the minds of others – to achieve our desired outcomes.
So, NLP is about learning how to use the language of the mind to produce behavior that ultimately achieves our desired outcomes.
To put it more simply, NLP is the study and adaptation of excellence.
Put simply, hypnotherapy is a method of speaking to the inner-most part of your mind – your subconscious – to eliminate old habits and behaviors and to generate new, beneficial behaviors.
Hypnotherapy has been successfully used by millions to lose weight, quit smoking, improve memory, become more successful and so much more. Hypnosis has also been used as a complete anesthesia, in both childbirth and surgery, that uses absolutely no chemicals, and so has no side-effects.
Hypnotherapy — the clinical use of hypnosis — has been approved by the American Medical Association since 1958, and the American Dental Association and the American Psychological Association, shortly therafter. It has been used in clinical settings for well over 150 years, around the world.
